The Seine Rive Gauche district is designed both as a mosaic of urban projects and an architecture exhibition. It is also a district that has been the focus of much controversy and onto which has been projected the malaise and the doubts of an urban society for which building has gradually become an offence.

Over time, the district has taken its place within Paris, with more positive aspects than its reputation might lead one to believe, and is being built within a form of comradeship and project/debate which is not always a pleasant experience but is always characterised by a concern for quality.

Austerlitz Sud is a part of the puzzle which will terminate the Avenue Pierre Mendès France when the heavy infrastructures are completed. It is designed as a group of buildings/blocks following a fractionated typology that is new for the site and which opens the public space of the avenue toward the Salpêtrière hospital and allows the sun to reach the avenue.
