On the site, the dominant image is of a city that is “unfindable”. The original parkways generate schizophrenic traffic, and despite a few living spaces, the town has no identity.
The project for a “knowledge city” along the Côte 121, which winds through the pinewood, is designed to create a carefully thought-out signature location with an environmental design for the digital era.
An exclusive-lane transport line linking Sophia to the rail station in Antibes triggered the project. Côte 121 is intended first as a “geographical act” associated with nature and consisting of an autonomous living space 1.5 km long. We then imagined it as a demonstration space for the research conducted at Sophia, and more generally for the major issues of our time.
The campus, the companies and the residential spaces will be grafted onto this unique place.
