Development of public spaces at the Docteur Pierre site Chemin de l'Ile République operation
Architects for package A
The public spaces of the Docteur Pierre district seek to reveal the historic Dr. Pierre building to best advantage, while integrating the new office and housing projects to be created on the site.
Redeveloping the connection of the Avenue Gallieni to the Avenue de la République in a more serene manner was the initial challenge of the operation.
A major public space has been created, where a set of grassy knolls are set on a concrete-and-angle-steel pedestal, thus recalling the site's industrial past.
In this space, a staggered planting of magnolias creates a rhythm in the central space.
On the residential side, the Allée des Jardins lends a more private spirit to the whole, with the creation of a 4m lane and a planted strip which acts as a filter and provides a setback for the ground floors. Along the perimeter wall of the gardens of the Dr. Pierre building, a strip planted with perennials will be created.
